Lakshya Sen is one of India’s leading badminton stars and the poster boy of a new generation making its mark on the global stage. Rising rapidly through the junior ranks, he first captured national attention at just 15, becoming the youngest Indian to reach the men’s singles final at the Senior National Championships and quickly establishing himself as a fearless competitor against the world’s best.
His journey has been defined by breakthrough moments on the sport’s biggest stages. At just 20, Lakshya won a historic bronze medal at the 2021 BWF World Championships, becoming the youngest Indian man to achieve this feat. He followed this with a landmark run in 2022, winning the India Open and clinching gold at the Commonwealth Games, while also playing a key role in India’s historic Thomas Cup triumph. His growing list of achievements also includes the Canada Open title in 2023 and a silver medal at the 2025 Hong Kong Open.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he etched his name in history as the first Indian to reach the men’s singles semi-finals. Most recently, Lakshya Sen delivered a major upset at the 2026 All England Open, defeating reigning World No. 1 Shi Yu Qi in the opening round. With this run, he became the second Indian male shuttler to reach two All England finals, joining legend Prakash Padukone.
Now a consistent presence among the world’s top men’s singles players, Lakshya reached a career-high ranking of world No. 6 and continues to evolve on the BWF World Tour, establishing himself as the future of Indian Badminton.
In sport, as in work, every win sets up a new challenge, every setback offers a lesson, and every next move counts. In this candid closing conversation, badminton champion Lakshya Sen reflects on the mindset behind competing at the highest level — staying focused under pressure, adapting to changing circumstances, learning from losses and continually raising the bar. A conversation about resilience, self-belief and the pursuit of progress, with lessons on what it takes to keep evolving when the stakes are high and the next point is yours to win.
